Holden Hall, built in 1967, underwent a few major renovations summer 2008. Demolition for an aggressive renovation project in Holden Hall began in May 2008 and was completed in mid-September. Project crews worked hard to re-program the hall’s main floor spaces, including all rooms and common spaces running from the East Lobby through to the West. Walls were removed and the former Holden Sparty’s was transformed into a spacious, common area, complete with open, painted ceilings, one central reception desk and a student gathering space. A game room was created off of the central common space and includes a Wii™, an Xbox™ and a Playstation3™. Down the corridor heading east, a community kitchen, dining space and a new Sparty’s was created. To the west, staff apartments and offices were completed throughout the corridor. The main floor also houses one high-tech classroom and four traditional classrooms. Student rooms were revamped with energy-efficient light fixtures and new paint.
