Auxiliary Services

Auxiliary Services includes a number of diverse groups that all contribute to the Division. Below is a short description of each.

The Jack Breslin Student Events Center is a major events facility on the MSU campus that is not only home to both the women's and men's Spartan Basketball teams, but also host to a wide variety of entertainment events. Over the past few years, Breslin has featured everything from rock and country performers and major comedians to circuses, ice shows and even monster truck shows.

Forest Akers Golf Courses are a jewel in the MSU crown. Not only do they offer two picturesque, award-winning eighteen-hole courses open to the public, but also are home to the Golf Center, Michigan's premier practice facility. A staff of PGA professionals offering lessons and classes is ready to help you learn, improve or perfect your game.

The MSU Tennis Center is Lansing's only tennis facility open to the public and recently enjoyed a stylish renovation to the lobby, pro shop and locker rooms. In addition to being home to MSU Spartan tennis teams, the Tennis Facility features eight courts, seating for 1200, classes for every level of player and pay-as-you-play hourly rates.

MSU Bakers offers a unique array of specialty baked goods and gifts, including cakes, cookies, special occasion gift packages and holiday items to not only the MSU campus, but also the surrounding MSU community. Delivery is available to on-campus locations.

MSU Food Stores is the hub for the planning, ordering and delivering of all food and food-related items to the entire campus, including University Housing, Concessions, Breslin Center and Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. In 2003, total purchases exceeded $20 million.

Spartan Linen Services provides not just the expected linen and uniform laundering, but has changed with the times to provide a host of additional services, including linen rental, apparel embroidery and a new retail outlet. Uniforms, lab coats, scrubs, Carhartt workwear and MSU paraphernalia can be ordered and/or embroidered at Spartan Linen Services.

MSU Concessions can be found providing high quality food service, MSU clothing and souvenirs at MSU football, basketball and hockey games and other athletic events, as well as other major events, including concerts, conferences and the annual Ag Expo. Concessions also offers catering services in four campus venues: Breslin Center, Munn Ice Arena, the Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education and Spartan Stadium.

Sparty's Cafes, Coffee Houses and Retail Stores can be found in nineteen locations across MSU's campus, including most residence halls, the Hannah Administration Building and the Main Library. Sparty's provides everything from a specialty coffee or tea to a quick salad or sandwich to your basic greeting cards, snacks and school supplies.
